Yes, as today’s post implies, Hetalia Axis Powers makes its broadcast debut today in the US on Comcast VOD. The first 24 eps can be found under: On Demand –> The Cutting Edge –> Funimation Anime –> Funimation Platinum –> Specials. Eps are airing back-to-back so you’ll see eps 1 – 12 and eps 13 – 24 offered. Some cities might not have this offered due to Comcast’s server change-over.  If you happen to be one of those cities, we’ll try and include it later in the Fall.

Here’s what else is airing today on Comcast VOD:

Other cities may see this programming instead:

  • Nana eps 3 – 4
  • Honey and Clover eps 3 – 4
  • Romeo X Juliet eps 3 – 4
  • Claymore eps 3 – 4

And for the latest on what’s airing on the linear service, head to this link after the jump. We have received feedback from viewers regarding the lineup on linear. We appreciate it. Very soon, you will notice a big change in the offering. Titles you have asked to see will finally become available to air on linear. The changes will be gradual as months go by so stay tuned to FUNimation Channel. We’re doing an internal soft-launch as I type this so by next month, you will definitely see the channel expand to more homes. 🙂 Exciting times ahead!

We are not resting on our laurels though. The channel still needs to expand on more cable and satellite systems so if you don’t have the channel and you are missing our awesome titles like Hetalia, Casshern Sins, Corpse Princess, Shigurui and more, then head over to the Get FUNimation Channel site and fill in your details. You will also be entered to win our monthly anime prize pack giveaway worth USD$250.

You can always follow the channel on Facebook and Twitter for up-to-the-minute updates and life’s mundane rituals. Speaking of which, I still owe you guys pictures. Man, I’m sooo far behind. 😳

*Programming disclaimer: Programming is subject to change at any time and without notice.

  1. First to comment again. 🙂

Hey Funi I’m back with more question abou the linear channel. 1)Do we have to pay a subscription to watch the channel on comcast or is it going to be free like Verizon Fios? 2) Do you plan on putting One Piece on the linear channel? Please let me know.

    • @sugaralchemist27 – Hi again!

The answers: 1) A linear channel is not yet available on Comcast. It would most likely be a part of your programming package of which Comcast determines the price of their packages. We’re not a premium channel like HBO so no, you will not pay extra. That’s standard definition linear. HD linear, again would be a part of an HD package of programs and that price is determined by the cable company.
      2) There are plans to include One Piece & many more programs on linear as soon as the channel expands into more homes.

  2. I’m not television savvy, since I hardly watch it, but this is the one at the Fancast, right? I finally found the section that had Funimation, but couldn’t find Hetalia. Do you have to pay to see the episodes…?

    • @Chul – Hetalia subtitled is most likely online. But what we are airing starting today are the English dubbed episodes of Hetalia and only available on digital cable video on demand not online. Because its a pre-release, its $2.99 to watch packaged eps 1 – 12 and 13 – 24.

  3. Funimation.. you have made my day. The second I saw this, I dashed downstairs and grabbed my clicker. Just.. God bless your souls. Loving everything I’m seeing so far. @___@

  4. LUCKY! I have At&t uverse will you be putting funi on the on-demand there because right now all i see is anime network. I hope you do i want hetalia! so please if you could tell me i would be happy! ::(: ::-):

  5. @FUNImation_Channel- Thanks for the info. I can’t wait for the Funi channel because I’m sure my uncle will DVR some of the tiles for us to watch on the weekends. I wonder if he knows about Hetalia and likes it, he is interested in WWII and anime after all. lol

  6. @FUNImation_Channel- Thank you so much! I’m now going crazy! Well only a few (2) more weeks till next month and 3 weeks and 3 days till the dvd! xD

  7. Can’t watch them since you guys switched everything over to Hulu 😦 Is there any way Canadians will be able to watch funi on demand again?

  8. sounds great! is there any chance of hetalia on time warner cable vod?

  9. @FUNimation_Channel

That’s pretty cheap for Hetalia, would love to see Hetalia on something like Itunes too if you haven’t done so already. Viz releases Shippuden on the service and obviously makes money, Funi should do the same with Hetalia, Hetalia is well loved too obviously.

  10. :C Are you guys ever gonna get a channel or anything on DirectTV???

    • @TouchMyChakrams We are currently in discussions with various cable and satellite operators – including DirecTV. Our meetings are helped by viewers who go to the Get FUNimation Channel site and fill in their details to request that their provider add the channel.
Its working so we want to continue this drive to get the channel on more systems. 🙂

  11. So Funimation_Channel guy, from what I’ve been reading weekly, is it clear or not if Comcast will be getting the Funimation Channel before Winter?

  12. Hey Funimation,

I was consulting with my Verizon Video on Demand and there isn’t a Funimation Platinum. I know that this announcement applies to Comcast subscribers but what about Verizon customers?

    • @tpilot Verizon customers will experience a major change next month on linear. The VOD offerings on Verizon might change but the priority is for the linear service. We’d like to expand that to more homes on more systems. The more the channel expands, the more likely our programming will increase and improve.

  13. Is this on Cablevision?

    FUCK YEAH D’: !!!!!

  15. @funimation channel so is this big change going to happen also to the liner channel as well next month, and also will there be more variety to the liner channel.

  16. D: Oh… I can’t watch it…

I guess I’ll just have to wait for Dtv…

  17. Are we going to see the winners of that Funimation Channel contest where you get the HDTV and anime prize pack?

  18. Hetalia on VOD! Thank you, Funimation!

  19. @FUNimation_Channel

What do you mean by confirm? Like say they’ve recieved the stuff?, or do you mean like confirm they recieved notice of winning?

If its the latter, you could easily contact the winners saying congrats on winning, you have until *Insert date here* to inform us of your shipping address etc and if you don’t respond tell them they forfeit their prize and it’l go to someone else.

That way those waiting for names of winners won’t have to wait long.
