VOD Fridays – FUNimation Channel (2/5)

Happy Friday to everyone! I hope the weather is fine where you are. Rain, snow, colliding storm systems – that’s just too much for us to take right now. Thankfully, FUNimation Channel has some new anime to air this month. ūüôā

And that menu change I mentioned last month is starting to show up on your VOD menus (if you are a Comcast customer). This is the new menu:

On Demand —> The Cutting Edge —>¬†Funimation Anime—> Funimation Free —> Glass Fleet

On Demand —> The Cutting Edge —>¬†¬†Funimation Anime—> Funimation Free —> Anime Selects

On Demand —> The Cutting Edge —>¬†¬†Funimation Anime—> Funimation Free —> New This Week

And for the PPV VOD menu:

On Demand —> The Cutting Edge —> Funimation Anime—> Funimation Platinum —> Specials

On Demand —> The Cutting Edge —> Funimation Anime—> Funimation Platinum —> D. Gray-man

On Demand —> The Cutting Edge —> Funimation Anime—> Funimation Platinum —> Blassreiter

On Demand —> The Cutting Edge —> Funimation Anime—> Funimation Platinum —> Spice and Wolf

On Demand —> The Cutting Edge —> Funimation Anime—> Funimation Platinum —> HunterXHunter

On Demand —> The Cutting Edge —> Funimation Anime—> Funimation Platinum —> Nabari No Ou

And now for today’s lineup on Comcast VOD:

I know some of you have left comments asking for changes to the linear schedule – looking for titles to return or just having a new slew of titles airing. I’ll let you know when I learn more about those changes. In the meantime, jump here for the latest grid info.

Next week we will have the premiere debut of¬†Evangelion 1.11 You Are [Not] Alone on Comcast VOD. Tell your friends, your family, your pets, your lovers that this movie is a big deal to air in the US and that it shouldn’t be missed.

And now for something not anime-related:

Who do you think will win Super Bowl XLIV this weekend? New Orleans Saints or Indianapolis Colts? And are you excited about The Who performing at the half? Leave your answer in the comments below. Game on!  Congrats to the New Orleans Saints!

  1. I’m not really crazy about either of these two teams (life long redskins fan), but I think the Colts will prevail in the end. Peyton is a surgeon on the field, and I don’t see Greg Williams’ blitz happy defense slowing him down much.

  2. Baltimore Ravens fan. I want the Saints to win, but I think it is going to be a 42-35 last second win for the COlts. Both teams have not a ton of defense. The only hope for the Saints is to have a 150 plus yard rushing day and for them to control time of posession 40 minutes to 20 minutes.

  3. I think the Indianapolis Colts might take this years super bowl. But hey, you never know for sure who is going to win, in the end i just want to see a good game.

  4. Hey Funi, I don’t know about everyone else but my on demand haven’t been up dated yet here in Chicago 60649. As as far as the Superbowl goes, The Saints won’t be marching in, Indy all the way.

    • @T.G. – Don’t worry. Some cities take a few days to update their menus. If it doesn’t show changes by next Fri, you can send an email to info at funimationchannel dot com and briefly describe what’s showing on your menu. Thanks!

  5. hey, funi
Im just reporting a problem with my ondemand
i haven’t got shuffle, negima, or tsubasa
if you could fix it that would be awesome!
    thanks!

  6. …I don’t believe in football. Only in the amusing commercials that occur in between those moments of white noise some call the “super bowl”.

Just curious, why does Fios no have a VOD schedule? Does it have to be either an On Demand thing or a linear channel thing? Cuz I’d TOTALLY take both…

  7. ah nvm about the ondemand thing
    I got the shows!
    ^_^

  8. i hope the saints win im from louisiana right now im in springfield, MO visiting definitly want them to win

  9. Colts will win hopefully, I am sick of the Saints and their dirty play.

  10. What’s the deal with Comcast taking off episodes early? The following episodes are supposed to be available until (2/12/2010) but Comcast has already removed them:

    Solty Rei Ep. 17
    Negima Ep. 19
    Shuffle Ep. 19
    Glass Fleet Ep. 21 & 22

    Can you fix this? Thanks.

  11. @ Kyoko: Your post made my day. I’m not a football fan either so the commercials really are about all I find interesting.

Too bad there couldn’t be one for anime. That would be a hell of a budget buster and probably useless.

  12. Same problems as ndv1 here (Atlanta, 30052)

We lost everything that was expiring next week when the menu split – same as last time there were menu changes (http://blog.funimation.com/2009/11/attn-comcast-viewers-funimation-channel-vod/). Seems like Comcast can’t chew gum and change VOD trees at the same time.

    Also: Saints will win 21-17

    • @ Atlatl – Please send an email to info at funimationchannel.com and briefly describe what is currently showing on your VOD menu. Operations will reach out to your Atlanta head end and attempt to correct the issue. Thanks!

  13. Dear Funimation,

Today, I just got the menu changed, but it is not quite what is should be like described above. Also, I did not receive the new shows that were supposed to be put on for this week. If you all know how to fix this, either leave a response or do the fixing as soon as you all can. Thanks in advance.

  14. P.S. – Chicago, 60516

    • @RobC – Please send an email to info at funimationchannel.com and briefly describe what is currently showing on your VOD menu. Operations will reach out to Chicago and attempt to correct the issue. Thanks!

  15. P.S. – Nashville, 37027

    • @ndv1 – Please send an email to info at funimationchannel.com and briefly describe what is currently showing on your VOD menu. Operations will contact your Nashville head end and try to correct the issue. Thanks!

  16. I’m wondering what’s the 2010 convention shedule is for funimation. I’ve looked on the con list page and it still has the 2009 list up.
