PROGRAMMING CHANGES TO COMCAST VOD
The month of November is going to show some very drastic changes to Comcast’s VOD menu look. You guys have probably heard something about Project Infinity from Comcast. Jump here if you don’t know what it is or how it affects you. The section called MOVIES & EVENTS on the VOD menu will disappear starting around 11/19 (it may be sooner in some cities). Instead, all the FUNimation Anime content that was available in that PPV VOD section will now be consolidated under THE CUTTING EDGE/FUNIMATION ANIME section. So now free and ppv VOD will be accessible via that section. Some viewers have experienced a lack of refreshed content since last Friday. If you are one of those affected, please list in the comment section below your city and zip code where you receive Comcast VOD. And list what titles (if any) are currently listed on your VOD menu. I’m not sure how each headend is dealing with this new VOD architecture, but hopefully I’ll be able to talk to operations and get info.
Comcast is trying to pave a way for us to grow and offer more anime titles by 2010. Obviously I can’t say much more until then but I know it will be as awesome as rainbows and unicorns.
And I know I mentioned last week about hinting some changes to the linear channel. I’ve got some hints…but I can’t reveal them yet. I know. The suspense is killing you, isn’t it? All I can say is…to be continued… 😥

I’m a bit confused about the infinity thing but hopefully it dosen’t affect my viewing way on demand too much. And I hope the Linear channel thing means that us Comcast peep’s can get the channel…hopefully 😆

In Kansas City (64138), none of the free VOD parts are there (not even some of the first episodes of the PPV shows)! Haven’t seen any updates to the shows either! 😦

the vod is great but i wolud love to watch anime 24/7
ok so im a big huge fan of vegeta!!! and i was looking at pics of him to find a background and come upon a pic of him as ss5!?!?! I went to the site it was from and it said that fans are mking their own series. Its called Dragon Ball AF. It is over in Japan. But it sounds really cool. I think FUNimation should make more of Bragon ball and make Goku and Vegeta go to ss7! It would be awesome to see. This is the story line they are using. (Dragonball AF Story Line – In Dragon Ball AF Raditz is back as a Super Saiyan even goes SSJ 3, Frieza and Cooler fuse, Cell absorbs Android 8, Goku goes Super Saiyan level 5 and then 6 also Goku learns how to fuse with 3 people. The AF is supposed to stand for either After Future, Alternate Future, or Another Future (or Absolutely Fictional!).):lol: 😛 😆 😆

@ndv1 – Operations sent a trouble ticket to your local headend so hopefully they can correct this. If the Solty Rei ep 9a doesn’t become available – I’m making a note to re-air it once the series finishes since its one of the bonus eps.

Comparing to the post http://blog.funimation.com/2009/12/vod-fridays-funimation-channel-124/ suggests we’re missing Air Gear, Dragonaut, NANA, D.Gray-man, Fruits Basket, Black Cat, Tsubasa Chronicle, and Soul Eater altogether as well as episodes of many of the others.
Also, Solty Rei 9b was episode 9, like 9a was.
@Atlatl – Thanks for checking in. I’ll forward your list over to operations. It may be that your local headend just updated their menu and will take this week for them to re-populate everything to go under the Cutting Edge/FUNimation Anime category.
Solty Rei 9a & 9b bonus eps won’t air since we were told by the licensor that they can’t allow us to air on TV. Sorry. 😦 So the only place to find them would actually be on the DVD.

You said let you know if it changed: Nothing ever happened. Well, we did get our usual update on the 11th, but the previously skipped update never appeared. We’re still missing about half or more of our Funimation. Basically, if we were supposed to get it on 12/4, we still don’t have it. Air Gear, Dragonaut, NANA, D.Gray-man, Fruits Basket, Black Cat, Tsubasa Chronicle, and Soul Eater are still missing entirely and we have episode gaps in many of the others.
is funimation really going to replace g4? i hope so
