VOD Fridays – FUNimation Channel (9/24)

with 6 comments

Its already Fall season and we are busy working on plans for the rest of this year and into next. Exciting times at the channel. In the meantime, we have a few updates on what’s airing on Comcast VOD. Today’s post will be short as we prepare for next week’s 2nd announcement.

Are you planning to attend New York Anime Festival/New York Comic Con in October? The channel will be there at the FUNimation Entertainment booth. We will have channel request cards for con attendees to fill out.  Stop by our booth, fill out the channel request cards and enter for a chance to win an anime prize pack worth $250. We might be giving stuff away at the show too. Follow the channel on Twitter for up-to-date at-con news. Video providers need to hear from you – the viewers – that YOU WANT YOUR FUNIMATION CHANNEL. This will be your chance to be heard and make a difference all the while trying to win some sweet swag.

Do you have VOD and still can’t find us? We are found under the category called The Cutting Edge and listed as Funimation Anime. Our PPV VOD offers viewers a chance to watch new shows before they street on DVD.

VOD Fridays – FUNimation Channel (9/17)

with 9 comments

It sounds like a majority of viewers loved the channel’s new look. Keep in mind that we are still in need of viewers calling and emailing their video providers and telling them to add FUNimation Channel to their programming lineup, especially now that its in HD. The channel’s programming will evolve as we continue to expand into more homes and more systems. Very soon we will announce a major expansion that will become available nationwide. And they are just as excited as we are about being a part of their programming lineup. We have all kinds of good things planned.

Next month, we’ll be in New York for NYAF/NYCC. We will be giving away something awesome at the show so if you are attending, you will need to follow the channel on Twitter to know when we are giving away something at the show. We’ll have channel request sign-ups so viewers can request that their video provider can add the 24/7 FUNimation Channel to their lineup.

VOD Fridays – FUNimation Channel (9/10)

with 8 comments

Hello everyone! Summer may have ended but things are still hot here at the network. We started this week off with the launch of FUNimation Channel HD and in a couple of weeks, we’ll announce the carrier who will offer the channel’s true HD feed to you – our devoted fans & viewers. To the rest of the viewers on other carriers, your cable and satellite operator can pick up our channel just as long as viewers pick up their phones or send emails and demand that their provider offers it. I want to clarify some of the misconceptions that seem to be floating around out there. First off, the standard definition feed no longer exists. It was taken down last Sunday at 11:59 PM EST. At 12 midnight on Monday, the HD feed went live and the new schedule went live as well. Second, Verizon FiOS is not showing viewers our true HD feed. What they are currently offering to viewers is a down-converted version of our HD feed. To get the channel’s true HD feed, TELL VERIZON FIOS THAT YOU WANT YOUR FUNIMATION CHANNEL HD! As soon as our second announcement rolls along, you may want to let your carrier know that other providers are giving viewers FUNimation Channel HD in true HD – (insert cable/satellite operator here) should too. One channel. One feed. One lineup.

VOD Fridays – FUNimation Channel (8/13)

with 17 comments

Happy Triskaidekaphobia! To some, the #13 is a magic number. To others, just another number. Today it just happens to be a VOD refresh day. Lots of things are cooking at the channel. Good things. The channel and FUNimation Entertainment are pretty excited about what’s ahead for next month. Two things are for certain – expansion and HD. xD

We have chosen the winners of our anime prize packs and HDTV set and just waiting for them to confirm before we can announce. You can still try to win an anime prize pack each month by visiting the Get FUNimation Channel site. Just fill in your details and you are in it to win it! You are also helping us expand the channel on more systems.

Last week, Comcast is undergoing some changes to their server structure that houses all VOD content. Some cities will show less content than others for now but as they increase capacity, the offerings will also increase. We will re-air some series that were affected at a later date.

Here’s what’s up on Comcast VOD:

  • Corpse Princess eps 1 – 4 (episode 1 is a Freeview)
  • Soul Eater eps 50 – 51
  • My Bride is a Mermaid eps 10 – 13
  • Case Closed ep 92
  • Nana ep 19
  • Honey and Clover ep 8
  • Baccano! ep 11
  • Tsubasa Chronicle eps 43 – 44
  • Full Metal Panic! The Second Raid eps 1 – 2
  • Monster ep 30
  • Bamboo Blade ep 20
  • Kenichi eps 19 – 24 (series will re-air in Oct)
  • Escaflowne eps 19 – 20

To see what’s up on the linear, 24/7 channel – jump to the FUNimation Channel site for the grid. We will drop little hints here and there on the blog, on Facebook and on Twitter regarding the changes ahead. We want to congratulate our 1,000th Facebook person – Kimaly Ann Tarter from Arkansas. Kimaly – you will receive a gift from the channel soon. :) Imagine what we could give away to the 2,000th person on Facebook. And we’re almost about to reach 1,000 followers on Twitter. We’ll try to put together something nice for that 1,000th Twitter follower.

I owe you guys pics. When I get a moment, I’ll post some stuff from cons and HQ.
