FUNimation Channel Weekend Roundup (7/8 – 7/10; 7/15 – 7/17)
We are gearing up for San Diego Comic-Con this week and we have 2 events happening at the show. Here’s the quick rundown:
Wednesday night, 7/20 (Preview Night)
Visit the FUNimation booth (Booth #4135) between the hours of 6 – 7pm & 8 – 9pm
We are taping sessions called “Be on FUNimation Channel” where people who visit the booth will get a chance to BE ON TV. We will ask 2 very simple questions, do a channel shout-out and that’s it. Think of it as bragging rights that you get to tell your friends you were at San Diego Comic-Con.
Saturday night, 7/23
Visit the AT&T Store in downtown San Diego (252 Broadway, San Diego, CA 92101) between the hours of 4:30 – 6:30pm
Our friends at AT&T and U-verse are co-hosting an event with FUNimation Channel & FUNimation Entertainment in the store. Meet VO actors Eric Vale and Chris Sabat for signings and meet-n-greet. We will have our TV crew there to cover the event which means when you attend, you get to BE ON TV!

Hey all! Anime Expo 2011 was absolutely fantastic! We want to thank all who attended the panel Friday night and also made calls at our booth to Dish Network, DirecTV, and Time Warner Cable. You guys were great!
We unveiled the promo that highlight’s the summer primetime shows. We threw in a sneak peek at the Fall primetime shows too. Needless to say, the 2k+ capacity ballroom was ecstatic.

Are you surprised as I am that there is no anime called Black Friday? I mean, there’s Black Butler, Black Blood Brothers, Black Cat but nothing hinting to this day celebrated by corporations or accountants. What kind of show would Black Friday be? Feel free to comment below.

Next week, we’ll premiere series Sekirei and Birdy the Mighty: Decode part 2 (eps 13 – 20). Birdy the Mighty: Decode part 2 releases on DVD 11/30/10 so you’ll have plenty of time to check out the rest of the series. We’ll eventually air eps 1 – 12 next year.

VOD Fridays – FUNimation Channel (10/29) Halloween Weekend Edition
Apparently, today is the *new* Black Friday. That’s what the news outlets have been saying last night. And I was just musing here at the office that it seemed like yesterday that 2010 just started. This year flew by quick.
Today is a light refresh day on Comcast VOD. Here’s a list of what’s new this week on the service:

You see, light. Looking ahead, November is going to have some really great shows airing on the 24/7 network. The schedule will continue to change and evolve over time so don’t be surprised if a new series will be scheduled on the channel .

VOD Fridays – FUNimation Channel (10/15) NYAF Aftercon Edition
Last weekend was a lot of fun. The channel received a ton of support from NYCC/NYAF convention goers each day. In addition, I spent a little time talking with Puffy AmiYumi and Boom Boom Satellites before their Far East to East 2010 concert; which was incredibly fun. We’re currently editing the interviews so it will take a while but we promise to post them once they are good to go. I’ll show NYAF/NYCC highlights in pictures after the jump.
